Free 4-week Beginner Piano Course
From “never played before” to first performance in 4 weeks
In four weeks, you’ll learn the patterns that unlock the keyboard, the rhythm skills that keep you steady, and the practice approach that turns a few minutes a day into real results—ending with a piece that you can perform with confidence, musicality, and joy.
-
You will need a piano or keyboard for daily practice. A full piano is great, but a digital piano works well too. You will also need a piano bench or chair to sit on, regular chairs are too short and can cause posture issues. An adjustable height bench is ideal but not absolutely necessary.
-
A laptop or desktop makes it much easier for your child to see my hands on the keys, read on-screen visuals, and stay engaged during group activities than if using a phone.
-
All sessions will be hosted live on Zoom, you will need to download the free Zoom app from zoom.com/download on your computer. You don’t need a paid Zoom account to attend. Use the meeting link that you will recieve to join each session. We recommend joining a few minutes early to make sure everything is set up before the session starts. There will be a waiting room on, so you won’t be admitted to the meeting until it is time, so you can join as early as you want. If prompted, select “Join with Computer Audio.”
-
A USB microphone is required for this online piano workshop because piano sound is much harder to capture than speaking. Built-in laptop mics are designed for voice and often distort loud notes, miss details, and automatically change the volume—making it difficult for me to hear rhythm accuracy, wrong notes, and tone clearly. A USB mic gives a cleaner, more consistent sound so I can provide real feedback and your child can get the full benefit of the class.
-
You will need a printer to print out sheet music and practice checklists. A black and white printer is fine.
